How quickly has October gone?
Welcome to this months update where we once again highlight the amount of money raised and how it is being used.
Through your kind donations we managed to raise an amazing £1,364 which, in local currency equates to 185,617 KES! These funds enabled us to purchase and deliver a shipment of 180 Cow & Gate / Nestlé Baby Formula milk tins. Thank you for your kind donations
There are still major shortages of supplies from wholesalers in Nairobi so our focus is on the milk purchases to make sure we are stocked up for the coming months.
We still need monthly direct debit donations as that’s the only way we can sustain the supply of keeping these little souls fed and in good health. We are trying our upmost to continue to negotiate with suppliers to make sure we don’t run short especially over the Christmas period.
On another note we have have been looking into the welfare of the children and the aesthetics of the children’s rooms they are housed in. From assessment we have identified that there is building work needed including
- Tilling
- Painting walls / ceilings / frames
- Replacement of some wood work
- General maintenance work
We are currently just negotiating with local builders and getting quotations to carry out the work. We will of course, be keeping you posted on this work too.
Please remember the funds for this work are separate from your monthly donation which are solely used for the milk and nappies as agreed. So if you would like more information about helping with the building work please do get in touch.
